I teach Interactive Multimedia to college students and one of the topics I include is about Blogging. I believe it is a relevant topic for the subject for multimedia today touches on topics like audio and video and a better way for students to appreciate multimedia is to let them try video blogging and podcasting. Mini iBlog @ CEL I love attending the iBlog Summit every summer for I learn lots of things about blogging. It was really fortunate that a Mini iBlog Summit was organized at the Consumer and Electronics Live trade show at the World Trade Center last Nov 15, 2009. My students were inspired and interested to blog and not just blog as a requirement for the subject but some of them were really determined to blog regularly. The Podium finally has provided its shoppers with fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection, last May 31, 2009, bloggers like me stressed test their internet. Participating in this event is special for me, I brought my family. Since it’s a Sunday the Wifi testing event became a family activity I saw fellow bloggers with their familes, grandmas, kids and even yayas were there. My son enjoyed the event for there were kids to play with. As a family, we brought 2 laptops and a wifi enabled cellphone. My son Lorenzo has a plurk account so he used my laptop while I checked out the connection using a Samsung phone. The connection was fast and did not even faltered since we started @ 2:00pm till 6pm. There were even electric outlets available to charge batteries of laptops. Participating on the SM Marikina Bloggers Event was so much fun. Bloggers were invited by SM Marikina to stress test their wireless connection today. Bloggers were encouraged to go around the mall and try the Wifi connection with their laptops, cellphones ,PSP or any WIFI enabled device. It was also an opportunity to touch base with fellow bloggers and relax after a stressful week. It also gave me an opportunity to bond with my husband who joined me in the event. Here are my observations: * The WIFI connection was fast early in the event with only a few bloggers at the start of the event. I had published two blogs and uploaded a file for my egoup. * After 3pm, the WIFI connections started to slow down as more bloggers arrive. * By 4pm I lost my internet connection completely. Recommendations: 1. Introduce a Surfer/Blogger Membership for the mall so that people will be encouraged to visit the mall frequently by giving them additional perks(you can charge minimal membership fee). 2. ...
